Hi! I’m Jessica Denise Grono, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a wife, mom of two, teacher, writer, disability advocate, and a woman living with athetoid and spastic cerebral palsy. While cerebral palsy has shaped many parts of my life, it has never defined what I am capable of accomplishing.

I created CPMommy.com to encourage, educate, and empower families, individuals with disabilities, educators, and anyone who wants to better understand life with cerebral palsy. Whether you’re a parent of a newly diagnosed child, an adult with CP, a teacher, or simply someone wanting to learn, I hope you’ll find practical advice, honest stories, and hope here.

I use a power wheelchair and require assistance with many daily tasks, but I firmly believe that independence isn’t about doing everything alone—it’s about having the freedom to make your own choices and live a meaningful life.

Over the years, I’ve experienced incredible highs and difficult challenges. I’ve become a mother, earned my teaching certification, worked in education, survived breast cancer, experienced vocal cord paralysis, and continued advocating for accessibility and inclusion every step of the way. Each experience has strengthened my faith and reminded me that our greatest obstacles can become our greatest opportunities to encourage others.

In 2001, I was honored to serve as Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania, using that platform to promote education and disability awareness. Since then, I’ve spoken to schools, community groups, and organizations about accessibility, inclusion, parenting with a disability, and living a life without limits.

My greatest blessings are my family. My husband has been my biggest supporter, and my two children have grown up understanding that disability is simply one part of life—not something to fear or pity. Together we’ve learned that love, laughter, determination, and teamwork can overcome countless obstacles.
