Our Story

Welcome to CPMommy.com.

I’m Jessica Denise Grono, and I’m so glad you’re here.

I created CPMommy because I wanted people to see cerebral palsy through the eyes of someone who lives it every day—not just through medical definitions or statistics. I have athetoid and spastic cerebral palsy, and while it affects how I move, speak, and complete everyday tasks, it has never defined who I am.

I’m a wife, a mom of two incredible children, a special education teacher, writer, speaker, disability advocate, and someone who believes that every person deserves to belong.

For more than five decades, I’ve experienced the challenges and the joys that come with living with a disability. I’ve navigated school, college, marriage, motherhood, breast cancer, teaching, and everyday life from a wheelchair. Along the way, I’ve learned that the biggest barriers are often not physical—they’re the assumptions people make.

CPMommy began as a place to share my journey as a mother with cerebral palsy. Over the years, it has grown into something much bigger. Today, it serves as a resource for individuals with cerebral palsy, parents, caregivers, educators, friends, and anyone who wants to better understand disability, accessibility, and inclusion.
